This by no means is a limitation to our possibilities; on the contrary! This is increasing our opportunities. We will be able to make use of talents at different locations; we will be able to get ideas from many sources; and we will be able to reach more people.
If collaborating well in the internationalized world, we can stimulate and supplement each other. We can build on the knowledge and experiences from people around the globe.
But, of course, we will also face challenges.
The changing world we live in and the sheer speed of the change we are experiencing, require an adaptability and readiness of unprecedented proportions.
We should exploit our personal talents and our best skills to make the most out of the opportunities of our time. I see that as obligation we have, not only to ourselves, but certainly also to our children and to the societies and world in which we live.
To be successful today, it is fine to be aware of the opportunities and risks, that exist, and alert about changes that will happen - but most of all, it is necessary to be able to focus and specialize.
So, with all the opportunities of our time, it is more important than ever to make the right decisions about which business(es) you are in - and particularily which businesses you are not in - today and/or tomorrow. You need to ensure international competitiveness; in a game you preferably define.
Personally, I am using my experiences and talents to help ambitious companies defining their game, innovate, internationalize and grow.
